Nissan renamed its whole van line-up in September 2021 and the Primastar is what the NV300 became. Nothing under the badge moved: it is still the vehicle Renault builds and sells as the Trafic. The choice that matters most for a conversion is the roof, 1,971 mm or 2,495 mm over the ground, because standing up inside is on one side of that line and not the other, and the taller roof costs nothing in length or in parking width. At 1,956 mm across, this stays a van that fits where a large estate car fits, which is most of the appeal.
The Nissan Primastar is the same vehicle as the Renault Trafic, Vauxhall Vivaro, Opel Vivaro, Nissan NV300 and Fiat Talento. Same body, same dimensions, same weight; a different badge and grille.

How to read these figures
Kerb weights are researched from published Renault Trafic data - the same vehicle, read on 18 August 2026. Basis: dCi 90/95 Business, FWD, 2.74-3.02 t GVW - the base trim, which is the lowest of the three Renault publishes (Business / Business+ / Sport).
Kerb weight (curb weight in North America) is the unladen mass in running order (all fluids, a 90% full fuel tank and a 75 kg driver), for a base-specification panel van at around 3.5 t gross. It is researched and approximate: a real van with options fitted will weigh more, and VanCAD lets you edit the figure on your own design.
Load length is the manufacturer's published floor length behind the bulkhead, measured at floor level in the bare van. Lining, battens and a false floor all take from it, and the figure says nothing about the height or width available above it.
One interior figure is published here, and it is the manufacturer's own: the load length at floor. Everything else about the inside of the van is deliberately absent. VanCAD's interior shapes come from traced reference models, so our own figures for load height, load width or the gap between the wheel arches would be wrong at the precision somebody cutting a bed frame needs, and a cited-and-wrong number is worse than none. Whether a given bed, shower or bike fits is a question the 3D tool answers by putting it in the van.
VanCAD models the mainstream panel van bodies and drive layouts for each van, not every factory option.
