Currency

Costs are shown with a currency symbol, and you choose which. It is a labelling choice, not an exchange-rate one.

What it is. A three-way choice - £ GBP, $ USD, € EUR - in the toolbar’s Settings menu, under Bill of Materials Currency.

What it does. Sets the symbol every cost in the app is shown with: each object’s Cost field, the bill-of-materials lines, and the Est. cost total.

Options and limits. Nothing is converted. A £1,200 conversion shown in dollars reads $1200.00, not a dollar figure at today’s rate. That is deliberate: the prices are the ones you typed in, or catalogue estimates, and silently re-pricing them at a rate that moves daily would make the total less trustworthy rather than more. So pick the currency you are buying in, and enter your prices in it.

The three currencies all use two decimal places, so switching between them never changes the precision of a figure. There is no way to add another currency today.

What it affects. How costs are displayed, and nothing else. It is not saved with your design, it is not an undoable edit, and it has nothing to do with what a VanCAD Pro subscription costs, which is priced separately at checkout. Like the unit setting, it starts fresh each visit.
