Toolbar overview
The toolbar is where you reach the things you do to the design as a whole, rather than to one object in it: step an edit back, change how the van itself is set up, run wiring through it, cut a window, save it, or read how much of your free session is left.
It is the strip of controls along the top of the editor. It holds the actions you reach for most often, and the entry points to everything else: the Van, Systems, Openings, Measure, Settings, Save, Share and Account menus all open from it.
The toolbar
Section titled “The toolbar”What it is. A single row of controls pinned to the top of the editor, above the 3D view. It is always visible - it does not scroll away, and it stays put when panels open beneath it.
What it does. It groups controls into three kinds: direct actions and toggles that take effect immediately (undo, redo, perspective and orthographic, orbit and fly), menus that open a dropdown of related controls (Van, Systems, Openings, Measure, Settings, Save, Share, Account), and status you read rather than press (the session timer).
Options and limits. Which buttons appear depends on how much room the bar has - see More below - and on where you are: the custom-object editor replaces the bar with its own, keeping the same undo, redo, view and unit controls. Buttons that need an account or a subscription stay visible but say so when you press them.
What it affects. Nothing on the toolbar changes your bill of materials or your weight total on its own. The menus it opens do.

What it is. A dropdown at the right of the bar, marked More, holding every control the bar is currently too narrow to show. It appears only when there is something in it.
What it does. The toolbar does not wrap or scroll, so as the window narrows it stops showing controls one at a time and puts them here instead. They come back out, in reverse, as the window widens. The order is fixed, from the first to go to the last:

Controls that belong together move together: Undo and Redo are one pair, and so are Save and Load. Share sits beside them but moves on its own, and goes before them - a Save you cannot find is worse than a Share you cannot. The “VanCAD” wordmark beside the logo is dropped first of all, before any control is, which buys about one more button.
Options and limits. The session timer and the Account menu are never moved into More - they stay at the top right at every width. On a phone or tablet layout the bar keeps only Undo, Redo, the timer and Account, and everything else is in More.
What it affects. Nothing. Where a control sits changes nothing about your design, and a control opened from More behaves exactly as it does on the bar.
