Language

VanCAD is available in English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Dutch. The language menu is where you choose which one the app speaks, and you can change it at any time without touching your design.

What it is. A globe with your current language’s flag under it, at the right-hand end of the toolbar, just left of the Settings menu. Pressing it opens a list of the languages, each written in its own language - Français, Deutsch, Español, Italiano, Nederlands - so you can find yours even if you cannot read the one on screen.

What it does. Switches every label, menu, help text and tutorial in the app to the language you pick, straight away. Numbers follow too: in French, German, Spanish, Italian and Dutch a decimal is written with a comma (1,25 m), and the size fields accept either a comma or a point as you type.

Options and limits. On a window too narrow for the globe, the language menu moves into the Settings menu rather than into More: Settings gains a Language row showing your current flag and language, and pressing it opens the same list in place. On a phone or tablet layout the row in Settings is the only home it has. The sign-in screen has the same globe at its top right, and the demo explorer has it beside the theme and unit switches on a wide window, or as the same Language row in its Settings menu on a narrower one.

While the app is in a language other than English, a Spotted a translation mistake? link sits under the list. It opens the feedback form already noting the language and the screen you were on, so you only have to say what reads wrong.

What it affects. What you read, and nothing else. Your designs are not translated or changed: the names you type - for the design, its groups and its objects - stay exactly as you wrote them, and a design started in one language opens unchanged in another. The choice is remembered on this device. This reference, and the emails VanCAD sends, are in English.
